SPS IPC Drives is Europe’s leading exhibition for electric automation. The show’s 2013 edition took place from 27-28 November in Nuremberg, Germany, with more than 1,500 national and international exhibitors taking part. The show was well attended with an intensive information exchange at forums and exhibition booths.
Throughout the show, our team of experts was on hand to demonstrate how our leading brands, Belden®, GarrettCom®, Hirschmann™, Lumberg Automation™ and Tofino™ offer a unique range of world-class products with performance second to none.
A large number of people visited the Belden booth to see our highly innovative solutions, designed for a wide range of automation tasks. We generated much interest with our interactive displays. One was a machine building application in an automotive body shop, demonstrating our secure network solutions and network management capability. In another exhibit, Belden focused on a food and beverage application to show our industry specific portfolio with emphasis on connectivity. In addition, we presented a series of demonstrations of security and redundancy solutions.
In a specially commissioned interview, “the Red Couch”, Belden VP Sales and Marketing Industrial Connectivity and Industrial Sales EMEA, Wolfgang Schenk talked about network security. He explained how it is better to fully integrate security into a system during its design stage, following the “defence in depth” best practices.
Wolfgang Schenk also mentioned the future of network security, saying that in the future, we will need to create multiple layers of defence. He pointed out that the most effective way we can do this is by building security into each device – and how Hirschmann’s latest switches already have this capability.
All of Belden’s activities were extremely well attended and attracted many positive comments.
